Academics Plus Charter School has teamed up with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to provide our students a wonderful opportunity.
The Academics Plus Charter School trapshooting club is dedicated to instructing our youth in firearm safety, responsibility, commitment, leadership, teamwork, and the sport of trapshooting. Our club is open to any youth in 6th through 12th grade enrolled at Academics Plus Charter School. No experience in trapshooting is necessary as our program has been developed to instruct beginners through highly competitive youth shooters.
We want to involve all family members in our club. Parents are encouraged to stay at the range to watch their child participate. As a matter of fact, many parents volunteer to help where needed. We especially enjoy when parents and their children shoot together. A favorite event is our Family Shoot at the end of our club season. At the Family Shoot each youth shooter is paired up with a family member and competes for awards.
They also help today's youngsters become tomorrow's seasoned sportsmen.
The Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program (AYSSP) aims to bring the joy of the outdoors and the rewards of safely learning to shoot to young Arkansans. Have you ever considered competing in the Olympics or a national shooting championship? This program from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission could be a start.

The state coordinator may specify models of trap machines for AYSSP events. All shooters and coaches must wear appropriate eye and ear protection.
Only registered AYSSP participants are allowed to compete and practice. All teams must register by March 1. Only coaches may register teams.
Each AYSSP participant must be on a team. Teams commonly represent schools, 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, church youth groups and other organizations, although anyone may form a group. Each team must have a coach 21 or older and must meet these requirements:
